Brode and Hamilton Chu (also former Hearthstone) formed Second Dinner in late 2018 but have been cagey about what they were up to.until today. They're now working on an unannounced Marvel game which the team describes as "a kernel of a fun idea" that they've been playtesting an early prototype of.

That certainly fits in with what we'd expect from numerous folks behind Hearthstone, and all expectations are now focused on this being a Marvel-licensed card game. "And that's money in hand with no need to sing and dance for milestone payments or desperately try to find new investors along the way". Second Dinner has managed to acquire the Marvel license for its first game.

Brode said in the newly released video that the studio has been working on the Marvel title for about six months at this point in time.

Second Dinner raised $30 million via a minority investment from a company called NetEase and is now looking to expand its team to build the aforementioned game.

Chu and Brode previously worked on Hearthstone as the executive producer and game director, respectively. Or maybe Spectacular! Or Incredible! We can't wait to show it to the people who we interview as candidates. "Or Mighty! Or quite possibly all of the above!"

The current job listings include full-time positions for a client engineer and technical artist.

Chu said: "In all likelihood, this will be the best game ever made".

Between last fall's Spider-Man PS4, the upcoming Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, and the various mobile tiles21 now available, it looks like Marvel-based video games are coming back in a big way.

"Today, we're excited to announce that we've entered into a new partnership with NetEase to help us explore new directions", reads a Bungie statement on the announcement. Also, given the team's expertise, it wouldn't be surprising if this is some sort of a collectible card game.
