Gonzalo Higuain's been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the years, and it appears he's on the verge of completing a move to England this January window.

Higuain sent out on loan to AC Milan last August after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Argentine has been unable to find his footing at the club.

The London Evening Standard are reporting on Wednesday that Sarri has once again asked the Chelsea board to try and seal the signature of Higuain.

Higuain's current sporting director has challenged his striker to improve at Milan, with a move to Stamford Bridge looking increasingly unlikely.

"He has to make a decision and take on his share of the responsibility", said Leo.

Higuain played under Sarri at Napoli in 2015-16, and enjoyed the most productive season of his career with 38 goals in 42 games.

"He's not having a good time at AC Milan, he's only scored eight times, but Sarri wants to get him back".

Brazilian Leonardo added: "There's no point following rumours and gossip".

Higuain is on loan at AC Milan but has not hit form this season and Chelsea are prepared to pay his £37million transfer and his £7m-a-year wages.

"He is here right now".

Chelsea's strikers aren't doing too good this season, either.

The Blues are not keen to negotiate with two different sides, and will look elsewhere for another option to compete with Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.

According to report from the Stamford Bridge, Higuain is expected to earn about £140,000 a week when he finally joins the club.
