Both Jeff and his wife MacKenzie are successful in their own rights, they both attended Princeton and MacKenzie is a novelist, who studied under Toni Morrison and won an American Book Award In 2006.

Bezos hasn't been spotted around his family home in Seattle.

Under the 54-year-old's leadership, Amazon has expanded beyond traditional retail to build an e-commerce juggernaut.

Among the potential beefs: Conflict-of-interest concerns raised by a National Enquirer report this week that Bezos hired Lin-Manuel Miranda to direct an Amazon Super Bowl commercial and insisted that his alleged mistress, former "Extra" anchor Lauren Sanchez, be on the production team.

Sources close to the situation told The Blast that the Amazon CEO's legal team sent a letter to the news outlet Wednesday night, threatening litigation and clarifying the situation. "He had a crowd of people around him".

It also paints a stark picture of MacKenzie as a wife betrayed by her husband.

Within hours, Page Six reported that the richest man in the world was secretly dating Sanchez, a former TV anchor and wife of Patrick Whitesell, powerhouse Hollywood agent for the likes of Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman and more A-listers. Included into his fortune are a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio, various charitable gifts and foundations and about 16 percent of Amazon's stock, all of which will most likely need to be divvied up - in half, if he and MacKenzie did not have a prenuptial agreement. "I wish him luck", said the US President who is not exactly known for subtlety.

The two announced they were separating but had made a decision to continue their "shared lives as friends".
