Nokia 8.1 Plus with hole-in-display design and dual-camera setup leaks

Renders for the Nokia 8.1 Plus recently surfaced, and as you can see, the phone has a large, almost bezel-less screen with a small cutout in the top-left corner for its front-facing camera.

Theres a regular fingerprint reader on the back too, solidifying the position of the Nokia 8-series as a premium mid-ranger.

Be sure to check out the 360-degree video below and let us know down in the comments on what you think about the latest leak. So, the fingerprint sensor will not be in-display. While initially slower to jump on new trends, the manufacturer has recently become quick to adopt not new technologies but new notches. Below the screen, there's a small amount of bezel with the Nokia logo. The report claims that the phone will offer a 6.22-inch display with a FHD+ resolution.

The renders show the Nokia 8.1 Plus will have a USB-C port on the bottom with a loudspeaker to keep it company, while the top side houses a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone will be part of Google's Android One program, and while not yet confirmed, we can expect it to ship with Android 9 Pie.

If these renders of the alleged Nokia 8.1 Plus end up being accurate, HMD Global (along with many other smartphone OEMs) are going to be using this same technique for their phone. The rear panel, which will likely be made up of glass, will see Zeiss-branded dual cameras vertically placed just above the fingerprint sensor. The Nokia 9 PureView is rumoured to come with a more traditional 18:9 display and will highlight a penta-camera system on the back.
