Ace Indian cricket stalwart Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh have been blessed with a baby girl, Hindustan Times quoted a BCCI official as saying. The middle-order batsman, who was on his way back from Australia, will miss the fourth Test in Sydney starting January 3. He will return to Australia to join the ODI squad on January 8 ahead of the three-match series that begins on January 12, the BCCI announced on Monday (December 31).

Rohit Sharma has called his wife Ritika Sajdeh his lucky charm.

Sharma left Melbourne shortly after India's 137-run victory in the third Test, where he made 63 not out in the first innings, as the tourists took a 2-1 series lead and retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Rahul and Vijay, between them, scored only 97 runs in eight innings, forcing India to go in with debutant Mayank Agarwal for the Melbourne game, along with Vihari for company at the opening position.

Rohit opened up about his wife Ritika's pregnancy in a chat with former Australia captain Michael Clarke in a promotional video for Hublot. Those in the know of things told TOI: "It would've been great to have him (Rohit) around".

Rohit Sharma had earlier missed the second Test match against Australia at Perth due to an injury, making the SCG Test the second game he will miss in the series. He will be missing the Sydney Test for the same, as the time won't suit him to play.
