Samsung's highly anticipated folding smartphone - the Samsung Galaxy X or Samsung Galaxy Fold - is set for an official launch at events in San Francisco and London on Wednesday 20 February.

"When we first launched Family Hub three years ago, it was an app-based experience anchored in food management, family connections and entertainment", said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America.

Many of Samsung's 2019 appliance will come with better Bixby integration, users will now be able to automate common household tasks. Samsung Electronics explained that Home AI is much more intuitive than answering with voices only.

The words "5G Prototype Smartphone" can be seen written boldly at the bottom.

Samsung has never had a major Galaxy launch primarily in San Francisco before; these events have typically been in NY or at MWC in Barcelona.

It is presumed that Samsung could have moved forward the announcement by taking into account Huawei's possible debut of its first foldable smartphone at MWC in late February.

Samsung is rumored to release four Galaxy S10 models in total, the Galaxy S10 Lite (which is rumored to launch with the Galaxy S10E name), S10, S10+, and 5G-enabled Galaxy S10.

In 2019, a whole new line of PCs are ready to be deployed.

Rumours about Samsung's highly anticipated foldable phone dominated the mobile space in the second half of 2018.

Samsung has unveiled the next generation of its Family Hub refrigerator, aiming to bring the family together in the kitchen while freeing users up to focus on what's important to them. The event, while broadly detailing the new features of the phone, also spent quite a bit of time discussing its power as a gaming device.

ZTE, another Chinese vendor, has filed a patent for a foldable phone, too, which looks similar to Samsung's.

The interface has been completely redesigned from the ground up.

A different report from The Wall Street Journal also offers the same date and location for the Galaxy S10 press conference.
