The back of the smartphone is also covered with 2.5D curved glass and it actually looks quite handsome in Fantasy Blue and Twilight Gold color gradients.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 will go on sale from January 15, and will be made available in Twilight Gold, Fantasy Blue, and Bright Black colour options. It's worth noting that given the impressive specs, all three versions of the Redmi Note 7 will be available in the United States dollars 150 to USD 210 price range. But the device itself comes with a killer feature: a 48-megapixel camera on the back.

The Redmi Note 7 is the first 48 MP camera smartphone from Xiaomi.

That said, this 48 MP rear camera on the Redmi Note 7 is a part of the dual camera setup which is placed vertically on the back of the smartphone in the top-left corner.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro new price and availability The base variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro that offers 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will now sell at a discounted price of Rs 9,999.

Redmi Note 7 marks Xiaomi's departure from the metal unibody design.

The Redmi Note 7 is Xiaomi's first smartphone to sport a dewdrop notch. While the Honor View 20 came with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, the Redmi Note 7 sports 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor. Users also have the option to expand the storage up to 256 GB via microSD card.

To inspire greater confidence, the Redmi Note 7 is now covered by an 18-month warranty instead of the usual 12 months. It's accompanied by a 5 MP camera which is used when you take photos in Portrait Mode. However, it's not clear if Xiaomi will be releasing the Redmi 7 or Redmi Note 7 at that event.

It is backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery and with the QuickCharge 4.0 support, the device can be fully charged in 1 hour 40 minutes. Xiaomi also appointed William Lu, who earlier served as President & CEO of cash-strapped Gionee, as the vice president of Xiaomi Group and the general manager of Redmi in China. It is also equipped with a USB Type-C port and houses a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 64GB storage variant with 4GB and 6GB of RAM is priced at CNY 1199 (approx INR 11,999) and CNY 1399 (approx INR 13,999) respectively.
