Redmi is said to be a budget-centric brand while Mi will bring more premium devices to the masses.

Last year, Samsung gave us a glimpse of its highly anticipated Galaxy F foldable phone.

Samsung has announced to launch a foldable phone soon. Not to mention that Samsung's biggest rivals, including Apple, Microsoft, Huawei, LG, and a variety of other China-based OEMs are all working on foldable handsets of their own. In the video, a device purportedly made by Xiaomi is seen and its screen is shown to be folding from the left and the right side.

It's unclear if this phone-tablet hybrid is real.

Foldable phones look set to finally come to market in a meaningful way during 2019, so with that in mind it's likely that we'll start to see more and more leaks as time ticks on. The hands-on video has been leaked by Evan Blass, who's a pretty popular phone leakster. Well, we say "regularly-sized" - it may be like holding a brick, we just can't say for sure from this poorly-lit, single-angle video. "Hot new phone, or gadget porn deepfake?"

It can be confirmed in the video that the foldable phone is from Xiaomi by the user interface. The alleged foldable phone appears with three screens and can be used as a phone as well as a tablet, which is great.

Consumers can expect to see numerous foldable Android phones in the coming year, including the one Samsung revealed in November, showing a 7.3-inch tablet that folds in two with a second phone screen on the back.
